 Training Rides (Race-Season) Minimize

For training during the race season, club members usually find a favorite midweek evening ride or two near either their home or work and attend those or simply ride by themselves. There are many of these rides to choose from in our area, but here are a few of our favorites.

Helmets are required on all rides. Obey all road rules. These are training rides, not races. Most rides are cancelled when raining.

Wakefield Park - Annandale, VA
Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6 PM. These rides are hosted by the Potomac Pedalers Touring Club and follow the same route every time through Annandale.

Hunter Woods Village Shopping Center - Reston, VA
Tuesday evenings at 6 PM. These rides are hosted by the Reston Bike Club and ride through Reston. Ride routes vary often and new cue sheets are distributed each week.

Vienna Community Center - Vienna, VA
Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6 PM. These rides follow the same route every time, up and back through Reston for an hour. These rides aren't formally hosted by a local club, but information about them can often be found on the USCF D20 mailing list.

HerndonCaboose - Herndon, VA
Thursday evenings at 6 PM. These rides are hosted by the Reston Bike Club and ride through Herndon, Sterling, and Ashburn. Ride routes vary often and new cue sheets are distributed each week.

Westfields Industrial Park - Chantilly, VA
Tuesday evenings at 6 PM. These rides are hosted by the Potomac Velo Club and ride a 1 mile circuit through the industrial park. Typical ride is a series of three hard laps, ending with a sprint finish, followed by two recovery laps.

 Training Rides (Off-Season) Minimize

For base training during the off-season, the club regularly meets for a casual weekend ride from various locations.
